Anchroman

Anchorman, or to give it its full name, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, was a hit comedy film in 2004, and now, thanks to Scientific Games, it’s available to enjoy all over again as a mobile slot on Touch Mobile Casino! Much of the game centres on the movie’s lead characters, including the infamous newscaster, Ron Burgundy, played by Will Ferrell. But, what the film buffs among you won’t have already seen on the big screen is the bevy of comical bonus features that you’ll find in the Anchorman slot game.

The base game comes with Ron Reels, Baxter Wilds, Mystery Stacked Reels, and the chance to trigger the Big Bonus featuring Whammy Free Games, Brick’s Weather Wheels, Ron’s Giant Free Games, and the Sex Panther Pick Feature with the scatter symbol.

The fictional KVWN news desk provides the background, and above the reels, you’ll find the familiar faces of Ron Burgundy, Champ Kind, Brick Tamland, Brian Fantana, and Baxter the Dog. Music from the original film acts as the soundtrack. Anchorman uses five reels and three rows of symbols, the latter of which includes the likes of Ron, Champ, Brick, Brian, Baxter, a glass of whisky, a cowboy hat, the KVWN news van, and a pair of sunglasses.

Wild Symbol

Scientific Games shows its sense of humour with the wild symbol, which is labelled “This Is A Wild Symbol”, and the wild can replace all symbols except the Bonus and Whammy symbols to help make winning combinations. In the base game, the reels may randomly change to Mystery Stacked Reels which used stacked versions of the most valuable symbols. The reels can also change to Ron Reels, which use an enhanced reel set that only includes Ron, Baxter, the wild, the hat, and the whisky glass. There’s even the chance that you’ll be awarded Baxter Wilds which adds between three and ten wild symbols to Reels 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Bonus Feature

If you manage to get three bonus symbols showing on Reels 2, 3, and 4, you get one free spin of the Big Bonus Reel, which can award special features, cash awards of up to 13.33 times your bet, or the Nice (N.B., 33 times your stake), Very Nice (N.B., 133.33 times your stake) or Really Good jackpot (N.B., 1,333.33 times your stake).

There are four possible special features that you may receive through the Big Bonus Reel in Anchorman:

• Brick’s Weather Wheels– offers cash prizes through a Wheel of Fortune. You can also land on Level Up sections (N.B. Green and Red) to win even bigger multipliers worth up to two thousand times your stake;
• Whammy Free Games – you receive twelve free spins, and each time that the WHAMMY symbol lands on the middle three reels, you gain an additional cash award;
• Sex Panther Pick Feature – you  get three chances to pick from a selection of fifteen bottles to reveal cash prizes (although you may reveal a +1 PICK symbol) followed by a packet containing a multiplier of between x2 and x10;
• Ron’s Giant Free Games awards six free games on enhanced reels which also expand to nineteen rows, which give you a total of one hundred and seventeen paylines.
