As we mentioned earlier, Pragmatic Play has been inspired by the classic Chinese novel, Journey to the West, which is thought to have been written by Wu Cheng’en.
The plot centres around a disciple who was banished from his heavenly temple for slighting the law of Buddha. Finding himself back in the world of humans, the exiled disciple has to atone for his sins by living through ten lifetimes. In his tenth life, he becomes a monk called Xuan Zang, and he is sent to the West by the emperor to seek out holy Buddhist scriptures.
Being shy and weak, Xuan Zang’s journey is set to be a dangerous one until a goddess takes pity of him and sends him some protectors in the form of a pig, a horse, a monk, and a monkey. The monkey king, the monk, the horse, the pig, and the goddess are all used as paytable symbols in the Magic Journey mobile slot, and each time that you tap the spin button on your mobile device, the characters randomly appear in the horizontal row along the bottom of the screen.
